Why did you settle in this region, in this place and not elsewhere ?

For the beautiful garden that we are lucky enough to enjoy. And for the neighbourhood, it is a paradise of good restaurants and Parisian bars.

What can you offer people staying with you ?

Spacious rooms (which is so rare in Paris) each with their own unique decor: it is a combination of desires. The terraces overlook the garden, the bathrooms allow guests to take their time and the ultra comfortable beds are ideal for lazing around. Guests can read, play or discuss in the lounges under the glass roof surrounded by the endless greenery of the gardens. It is the perfect break in a real urban oasis, a green bubble in Paris. We also provide delicious, organic breakfasts.

What specific architectural features does your building have ?

It is an ecological house, the first "zero carbon" house in Paris which runs solely off renewable energy sources and offers the best ecological and environmental performance. Built in 2015, it incorporates all the latest innovations: a wood structure and reinforced insulation, led lighting for low energy consumption, purified air (tiling purifying the air, VMC double flow), renewable energy (solar panelling and wood pellets) shallow baths, walk-in showers, and Japanese toilets to reduce water consumption whilst also increasing comfort and connected TVs with ultra HD (4K) LED screens.

Places you would personally recommend

There are three excellent restaurants nearby: "Le Sot l'y laisse", "la Réserve des initiés", and "Fulgurances". Three different concepts for the same culinary passion.

What is its history ?

Having built two ecolodges in Madagascar, we wanted to create the first luxury ecolodge in Paris. I am a decorator and I was personally involved in the implementation of this project, from design to decoration, during the three years it took to construct this unique house in Paris. The idea was to recreate the spirit of a holiday home overlooking the gardens, the kitchen would become the gathering place and the bedrooms would be a personal space for the privacy of the guests.

Our opinion

This unusual retreat hides inconspicuously behind the buildings bordering the Rue de Charonne, as though saving itself for the special few who have adopted ecology as their way of life. The architectural design with taut lines and a blend of wood and glass gives the place a real sense of serenity. The transparency, the tricks of the light and the fluidity of the spaces transport you to another world, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. The cedars, oaks, loquats and maple trees of Japan form a green oasis full of promise.
