Like a sentinel perched on the edge of a high chalk cliff, the house watches over the infinite horizon where the changing lights of the open sea will hold your gaze and brighten your thoughts. The clean and modern lines, dominated by white, seem almost designed to accommodate such seaside dreams that break the boundaries of the ordinary. With just a few steps, they can stretch even further along the beach or the Baie de Somme classified as a "Grand site de France".
I was born in this region and live here. I know all of its secrets and potential. Often dissatisfied with tourist accommodation, I decided to create somewhere with my own personal touch - a place inspired by everything I have seen during my many business trips in small charming hotels and unique places around France and abroad. This is how I came to buy this house which I named Brise du Large. Turned towards the sea and the horizon, the house was designed to become a place of passage, meetings, rest and holidays, as well as a place of work by hosting small seminars and management committees. One guest left a note in the guestbook that truly characterises the place - "Hard to find, impossible to forget!"
Located thirty metres from the sea and perched on a chalk cliff one hundred meters high, it consists of an original main house from the 1920s and a more recent extension. The ensemble was recently restored by an architect who gave it a more refined and contemporary look. In front of the property are fifteen kilometres of beaches leading to the Baie de Somme and a two hundred degree view of the English Channel.
The original house from the 1920s was attached to a farm and integrated into a farming business. In 2019, I bought it with 1600m2 of land. After a complete renovation, the Brise du Large guest house opened its doors to all those who wish to share the infinite without going far.
Wild, marine nature; the sea as far as the eye can see; breathtaking sunsets. A unique and comfortable place; a warm and attentive welcome. A house where there is always someone with stories to tell! An intimate garden overlooking the sea where you can enjoy a seafood platter washed down with a Douro white wine made with a Portuguese friend. A kitchen shared with the owner. A timeless change of scenery, two and a half hours from Paris and Lille, where guests can reconnect with their senses and slow down.
Eu, a royal town with a castle just eight kilometers away; Le Tréport with its port and fishermen; Saint-Valéry-sur-Somme and the bay of the same name ranked among the most beautiful in the world. The national forest of Crécy-en-Ponthieu, one of the most beautiful beech groves in Europe. Since the Revolution, an ancient royal forest and woods of ecclesiastical origin have been joined together to form the largest forest in the Somme. Our friend Edric has an oyster farm located at the Pointe du Hourdel, at the mouth of the Baie de Somme, where you can try fish and seafood. The Ches Troes Piots Coechons tavern is a restaurant grocery store that serves invigorating dishes in a unique atmosphere. In spring and summer, a "food truck" bar serves local products at the foot of the house, facing the sea. They are nicely prepared by Ludovic, creator of “La Nature a du Goût”.
115 € - 125 € per night
The house has five bedrooms including a children's room with bunk beds. They all have a private bathroom and their own name: La Hune, Beaupré, Marée haute, Marée basse and Les Bannettes.
