The old forge and its bellows
The restored forge, built at the beginning of the 16th century, could provide a new activity by generating hydro-electrical power, thus guaranteeing control of the levels of the rivers and of their flow rates.
Its quarry block walls with dressed stone quoins have semi-circular openings and are covered with a roof featuring skylights. It spans a floor surface area of approx. 250 m².
The room containing the old bellows is currently a machine room for the garden watering system. It spans a floor surface area of approx. 30 m².
Hydro-electrical power generation
This is an ideal way to generate ecological hydro-electrical power. Energy reserves being limited, it would appear pointless to waste what nature gifts especially as hydro-electrical power is the cleanest and most profitable of renewable energies and can provide additional income.
It would be possible to install two mills on the current site; the water retention capacity backs the hypothesis of continuous operating and therefore a total production of 45,000 kwh. Such a project would qualify for financial aid from ADEME, the French Environment and Energy Management Agency.
The millrace and the lake
The lake, spanning a surface area of approx. 3½ ha, and its millrace were dug at the beginning of the 16th century and then renovated at the beginning of the 18th century. They are encompassed by a set of low quarry stone walls. Both have been authentically restored using good trade practices.

Its interior decoration was carried out by a Parisian ornamental sculptor.
The floors are covered with tiles featuring geometric patterns and oak wood parquet flooring. Various rooms are decorated with 19th century marble fireplaces and panelling.
It spans a total floor surface area of approx. 550 m².

It still comprises its original materials and although the building has been preserved, it is in need of internal restoration works.
