This residence, standing in a no-through road, is bordered on one side by a few houses and on the other by grasslands; the countryside extending as far as the coast.
This large, robust building, spanning approx. 400 m² of living space, was constructed in 1973. With its granite-hewn pillars, its ogee window framing and its wooden and stone sculptures of all kinds, it gives more the impression of having been built on the ruins of an old manor house. This is the result of the work of a well-known local sculptor, who has put in a great of effort both outside and inside the residence.

The main house

The main, south-west-facing building features four semi-circular arched French windows and five shed dormers on the roof. It is enhanced by a large slate terrace.
Set at right angles on the left-hand side, a slightly lower construction used as an entrance hall links it to a small tower with a candlesnuffer roof.
Inside are slate tiled floors, walls composed of exposed stone from the Arrée mountains and exposed ceiling beams.

Ground floor
This level is accessed via the building that links the main building to the tower. The granite walls are enhanced by a dressed stone cornice.
The entrance hall houses a stairway that goes down to two rooms on the mezzanine floor and a toilet. On the left-hand side, a door leads to the tower which comprises a round lounge-study with exposed stone walls. From there, a stairway goes upstairs to the so-called “billiards’ room” with its amazing roofing framework.
On the right-hand side is a large living room, spanning approx. 60 m², with a fireplace. Three French windows open out on to the terrace. It precedes a lounge, spanning approx. 30 m², with a fireplace.
At the back are two toilets and the kitchen with its stairway going down to a large cellar that houses the boiler room.
Two bedrooms are separated from this area by a corridor which has an independent entrance and a wide wooden stairway that leads upstairs. One bedroom opens on to a terrace; both have a bathroom and toilet. A predominantly glazed room looks out over the grasslands where donkeys gambol.

First floor
A long corridor leads to eight bedrooms, each with its own bath or shower room and toilet.

Our opinion

The almost timeless appearance that a highly talented sculptor has given to this extremely recent construction is absolutely amazing. Full of character and features, it is easy to live in as residents can cycle to the shops or to the beach. The property is, moreover, so close to the coast that it is possible to glimpse the sea from the garden and the rooms on the first floor.
It will take a very large family or numerous friends to fill the ten bedrooms that comprise this spacious residence ready to immediately accommodate its new arrivals. The property would even lend itself to a variety of hotel and catering projects.
