In the south of the French department of Yvelines, 30 km from Paris via Porte-de-Saint-Cloud, the hamlet nestles in the Upper Chevreuse Valley Regional Nature Park.
Schools and shops in Dampierre and Chevreuse are 3 km away.
4 km away, an RER train station on line B not only has 30-minute links to the centre of Paris but also to Orly airport via Orlyval from Antony as well as direct links to Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport.
A wide, paved driveway runs from the gates alongside the north facade of the building, providing access to two main entrance halls.
The first opens into a 75 m² living room-lounge. This double aspect room, steeped in light, opens on to terraces. A library is on the north side whilst an impressive fireplace takes pride of place in the centre of the room. The floor is covered with solid oak wood parquet flooring. The lounge provides access to an area reserved for the masters of the house. This main bedroom is completed with a dressing room and a private, unoverlooked terrace. It has a white marble and oak wood bathroom as well as a separate toilet.
The fully fitted kitchen, following on from the living room, looks out on to a terrace. It links the living room to the second entrance hall which provides access to four bedrooms, two bathrooms and two toilets. A wooden stairway goes up to a level under a sloping ceiling, converted into a study.
A linen room, a double garage and a cellar, adjoining the house, are reached via the main driveway. A technical workshop can be accessed from one of the south facades. A bedroom has been created above the garage, together with a bathroom and toilet.
The guest house
The guest house, under the same roof and adjoining the main house, has its own entrance. It comprises a bedroom and a shower room with a toilet on the garden level and a small lounge as well as a second bedroom upstairs.
The swimming pool
A swimming pool and its terraces, on the south side of the property, are covered with a totally removable, wooden and glass structure that, with heating via a separate oil-fired boiler, makes it possible to take advantage of the pool all year round. The water heated via a heat pump is filtered via an automatic electrolysis system.
The garden, enclosed by stone walls, is totally protected from onlookers. Heavily wooded, it comprises several very different areas. A rose garden and boxwood-lined alleyways accompany the terraces, whilst the lawn beyond is dotted with outstanding species of trees as well as fruit trees.
Horizontality rules here: this house has something quite rural, even Japanese about it. The wide openings in the living room ease the separation between the natural setting of the parklands and the sober lines of the interior. The completely white kitchen is neither aggressively minimalist in its decor nor ostensibly traditional. The pristine condition of this property is immediately obvious. The windows, picture windows and shutters were all replaced in 2013. The impression of a little, private, enclosed haven is more than compatible with the proximity of Paris, not to mention that of the shops and prestigious schools.
