An old, 186 m² house with a verdant setting in a semi-private road
much sought-after in Bois-Colombes 10 minutes from Paris

The town of Bois-Colombes was created in a wooded area in the 19th century. Its proximity to Paris and its link to the French capital via the railway line ensured its development and made it the ideal choice for Parisians seeking natural surroundings.
This house is less than 5 minutes’ walk from the town hall and local shops. Two train stations can be reached on foot in less than 10 minutes: that of Bois-Colombes with 10-minute links to Gare-Saint-Lazare and that of Vallées with its 5-minute links to Nanterre-Université. Infant and junior schools are respectively 3 and 4 minutes away on foot. There are also numerous private schools in both Bois-Colombes and Asnières-sur-Seine.

This old, detached, 186 m² house, nestling in the midst of one of Bois-Colombes’ most sought-after semi-private “Villas” or roads, just a stone’s throw from the town hall and less than 10 minutes from train stations, was constructed in the 1920s. Predominantly facing south, its vast ground floor comprises an open-plan kitchen, a lounge with a fireplace and a contemporary style glazed extension, opening on to a wide terrace, bordering a little wooded garden. The first floor includes two bedrooms, a bathroom and a separate toilet. Two bedrooms, a study and a shower room share the top floor. The semi-underground basement, which can be reached independently, comprises several rooms that could form a studio flat. This bright, tranquil house has been restored in a refined manner and is in pristine condition. It still has numerous old decorative features such as fireplaces, parquet flooring, cement floor tiles, moulding, brick walls, etc. The large courtyard in front of the house can be used for parking several cars.

The house

The semi-private alleyway leading to this street makes it possible to reach this house quietly. Once through the wide gates, visitors find themselves in a gravel, wooded courtyard which can easily take two cars. The facade is enhanced with a few discreet touches of colour, providing a contemporary air.

Ground floor
A few steps go up to the entrance door, protected by a glass canopy. It opens into a corridor, with old cement floor tiles, which leads, left, to a toilet as well as the stairway and, straight on, to a vast living room comprising three areas: a modern fitted kitchen with a central unit; a lounge-library with a fireplace; and, via a few steps, a contemporary glazed lounge, opening on to a terrace and its verdant setting. The double aspect, north and south-facing reception rooms are steeped in light courtesy of their picture windows opening widely on to the garden. The floor is covered with wide strip oak wood parquet flooring coming from the bottoms of old carriages, bestowing the room with a resolutely modern look. White walls and a white marble fireplace contrast elegantly with the warm colours of the sections featuring exposed brick walls. A wide, wooden stairway, illuminated by openings, goes upstairs.
First floor
This landing provides access to two bedrooms, both with strip pattern parquet flooring and a fireplace, as well as to a toilet and a luminous bathroom, looking out over the verdant setting.
Second floor
This floor comprises two bedrooms, with slightly sloping ceilings, a study and a modern shower room with a toilet. The bedrooms have strip pattern parquet flooring.
This semi-underground level also has independent access. It comprises several rooms, including a boiler-laundry room, storage areas and two rooms which could be converted into a studio flat.

Our opinion

A sun-filled house exuding radiant charm, it is set in the midst of its plot of land, steeped in peace and quiet. This home, the height of luxury forming a haven in the town centre, will provide its new owners with a feeling of timelessness. With old features and the advantages of modernity, the balance between the interior and exterior fixtures and fittings makes this tasteful property a particularly appealing place to live.
