South of Toulon harbour, in the highly sought-after, densely wooded Tamaris district, 100 m from the mer. 15 minutes from the motorway, 25 minutes from a TGV train station, 45 minutes from an airport and 5 minutes from the shops.


This 5,443 m² plot of land was originally part of a property constructed by Michel-Pacha at the end of the 19th century in this district where numerous holiday homes were built, a large number of them in an oriental style. A separation of land was carried out in the 1980’s such that this bungalow, currently awaiting renovation, could be built. About half of this terraced plot of land is classified as EBC (espace boisé classé or reserve forest). The south section is a small wood with tall trees; the east side is planted with an olive grove comprising 30 fruit-producing trees as well as a vegetable garden. Below the garden, an old ornamental pool could be transformed into a swimming pool. A stone cabin houses the pump for a borehole used for an economic, automatic watering system. A well near to the residence has been covered with a large shelter. The mild climate of this seaside area is ideal for a large variety of plants especially citrus trees.

The residence

This bungalow, facing south-east with a sea view, spans approx. 125 m² of living space. Constructed in 1981, it is fitted with an alarm system. The main entrance is on the rear, north-east side of the building, between the storeroom and the large garage with a mezzanine. The door, protected by a canopy, opens into a small area adjoining the main room, with its fireplace and two French windows opening on to a south-east facing terrace. The kitchen, on the north-west side, opens into a south-facing back kitchen which also has a passageway leading to the garage. A corridor provides access to three south-east facing bedrooms with sea views. One of them has its own shower room and a balcony, making it possible to go down to the garden; another also has an open balcony. A fourth bedroom and a bathroom are on the north side, together with a separate toilet. Exposed beams and sloping ceilings make the rooms extremely pleasant but the materials dating from the 1980’s are in need of renovation.

Our opinion

This property does not meet Patrice Besse’s usual high standards but it has no shortage of assets. Immaculately kept, laid out all on a level for easy living, this home could be renovated and modernised so as to finally become a five or six bedroomed property with a possible 20 m² extension. And the 5,443 m² plot of land, peacefully set in an ideal location so close to the sea, is completely out of sight of onlookers. Other rare features are its surface area and its countrified air, with its olive grove and vegetable garden, despite being so close to town.
