An 18th century, large, luxurious home, with a garden and outbuildings,
in a village in the north of Brittany’s French department of Finistère

The village is near to Morlaix, a small town with a TGV train station. Brest-Guipavas airport is 25 minutes away. It takes even less time to reach the nearest beaches. The village has a primary school and a sixth form college as well as all local shops.

This house spans a floor surface area of approx. 340 m² over three levels. It comprises 13 main rooms with a lounge, a dining room, a kitchen, a study and 8 bedrooms. The garden, courtyard and carpark extend over approx. 2,500 m².

The house

This large, luxurious home dates from the late 18th century. It is surrounded by an entrance courtyard, outbuildings and a vegetable garden.

Ground floor
The entrance hall provides access to a 27 m² dining room, with a wood-burning stove and randomly matched parquet flooring, a 16 m² lounge, a 20 m² study, a 22 m² kitchen and a toilet.
First floor
The first floor landing leads to 4 bedrooms, respectively spanning 16, 17, 20 and 20 m². One has its own bathroom and toilet, whilst the others have their own shower room and toilet.
Second floor
The second floor landing leads to 4 bedrooms, respectively spanning 13, 13, 20 and 20 m². Two have their own bathroom and toilet whilst two have their own shower room and toilet.

The outbuildings

The outbuildings comprise a cellar and a storeroom in one of the wings adjoining the house. The other wing houses a small dwelling with a bedroom. Old stables opening on to the courtyard have been partially transformed into offices with water and sanitation laid on. A carpark with a woodshed is laid out in one section of the garden with another entrance.

Our opinion

This house, with its white rendering and its granite framing around the windows, is typical of Brittany. Two small wings flanking it enhance its discreet elegance. The beaches are not far away, neither are the fastest of means of transport. This residence is of a size to accommodate a large family or a bed & breakfast activity. Courtesy of its old stables, now converted into offices, it could also appeal to those seeking to practise their profession from home.
