Description

This chateau, standing in the middle of its small hamlet, was built in the 17th century. Two centuries later it was dismantled and rebuilt behind its old moats. The building of this harmonious property stands in pride of place amidst its parklands in a superb clearing bordered by trees.
The estate has kept the necessary outbuildings and annexes such as a caretaker’s cottage, a swimming pool awaiting renovation, a tennis court and a dovecote.
Superb main, wrought iron gates open into the parklands but the property also has a second entrance suitable for cars with remote-controlled entrance gates.
This chateau, built of stone and brick, has a slate roof featuring shed dormers as well as six brick chimney stacks. The building spans four levels including cellars and attic space. It is flanked by two side wings spanning two levels over cellars. Both wings are topped with terraces enclosed with stone railings.
The ground floor opens, at the front, on to a porch way with a double stone stairway and, at the back, on to a large terrace looking down on to the parklands.
French windows are set out the length of the ground floor. The windows feature small panes.

The chateau

The main building spans four levels, whilst the wings span but two.
The semi-underground basement covers the full floor surface area. It opens on to the parklands via two side doors and its windows overlook the parklands.
The ground floor, with its state rooms, also spans the full floor surface area.
The first floor, predominantly comprising bedrooms as well as bathroom and toilet facilities, is solely to be found in the main building.
The second floor also predominantly includes bedrooms.

Our opinion

This exquisite chateau, still in its original condition, is characterised by an almost perfect balance. Virtually on the outskirts of Paris, it provides complete privacy for its residents who can, however, count on their neighbours. Neither too big, nor too small, it is a reasonable size with just the right amount of outbuildings and parklands. Tastefully kept and in good order, it has a commercial lease, making it possible to install offices whilst living in it as a family home.
