The village and its outstanding listed, 11th and 16th century church is but a stone’s throw from Rambouillet national forest, which exudes its ambiance throughout the streets and provides hikers and horse-riders with extensive views abounding in oak and pine trees. This house is 14 km from the town centre of Rambouillet and its railway station with 30-minute train links to Paris-Montparnasse. A new, recently constructed complex, comprising a concert hall and a media library, enhances the cultural activities of this history-filled town. Infant and junior schools can be reached on foot from the house whilst Rambouillet’s Bascan and Sainte-Thérèse lycées can be reached via school bus services. It is also possible to get to Paris-Montparnasse station from Epernon, 5 km away, and take advantage of a free carpark made available to passengers.


This property, in the centre of the village, is dubbed “Maison du Gué Falot”. It stands on land spanning a little over 800 m². The house

Road floor
This level of the house can be reached via two entrances, one of which provides access to the technical areas. A stairway, illuminated via the ceiling, connects the entrance hall to the upper level, making it easy to move around the house.
Garden level
A second entrance on the east facade provides direct access to this main level. It opens into a vast room comprising a lounge-living room with an open-plan kitchen, all illuminated via large picture windows, framing the tops of the large maritime pine trees. This level also includes a master suite comprising a dressing room, a bedroom and a bathroom as well as a toilet and a machine room.
First floor
The upper floor comprises two bedrooms and a bathroom reached via a mezzanine area which could be laid out as a library and a study area. The bedrooms are relatively large and it would be possible to install mezzanine floors in both.

Our opinion

A superb example of organic, ecological architecture, this contemporary residence is plain and free of ostentation. It is immediately obvious just how its layout and the attention paid to detail have enhanced simple, spacious rooms, creating living areas that are always in direct contact with the garden. This collection of assets makes it a home that is not only warm and comfortable but also very economical energy-wise. The house being new, it is in line with all French RT 2012 standards and has all relevant guarantees. Incomplete finishing works will enable new owners to add their own personal touches to the inside.
