In the French department of Hauts-de-Seine, 5 km from Porte-d’Auteuil, Garches is surrounded by Saint-Cloud park, Marnes woods and Saint-Cucufa national forest. The town, itself, is undulating and verdant. Paris is within easy reach by train coming into Gare-Saint-Lazare. The weekly market in Place-Saint-Louis is renowned for the variety and quality of its produce. Local state schools are considered to be good. Near to prestigious private schools such as Daniélou and Passy-Buzenval.

Description

This recently constructed house is part of a first-class co-owned property, along with ten or so others.
Its 187 m² of living space is spread out over three levels, reached via a wooden stairway. The ground floor comprises an entrance lobby providing access to an attractive 35 m² lounge, opening all on a level out on to a very pleasant, south-facing, wooded patio. This recent red brick house, reflecting English architecture, greets visitors with a mass of hydrangea bushes.


Ground floor
The vestibule leads to a double reception room which comprises a comfortable, extremely bright living room. Two French windows open on to an attractively planted, south-facing patio.
The wooden mantel on the fireplace and the light-coloured oak wood parquet flooring create a very welcoming atmosphere. The adjoining, fully fitted kitchen is laid out lengthwise. It is illuminated via a large window, looking out over the patio and letting in copious amounts of light. The eating area is separated from the kitchen and has a French window providing direct access to the patio.

First floor
A wooden stairway goes up from the vestibule to a little landing which provides access to four bedrooms with two bathrooms and a separate toilet. Two bedrooms face south, looking out over the patio. A third, bigger bedroom, with its adjoining bathroom and built-in cupboards, forms a master suite. The last bedroom also has a large dressing room. A laundry room, fitted with numerous clever cupboards and shelves completes this floor.
Second floor
The top floor spans a vast, through area, spanning approx. 25 m². It could easily be transformed into two additional bedrooms. There are also a shower room and a study on this level.

Our opinion

Although Paris is not far away, the surroundings here are already relatively free of pollution.
Garches is one of those towns to the west of the French capital where the quality of life is to be envied. The red brick construction and the gable motifs on the roofs create a northern air. But the patio, protected by its vegetation, is a real suntrap.
This property has everything for a family to be able to settle in comfortably.
