This little town in the east of Paris, spanning less than one square kilometre, is in an ideal location between the hustle and bustle of Paris and the thousand-hectare Bois-de-Vincennes and, therefore, has an excellent quality of life. Saint-Mandé still constitutes an extremely verdant setting with its Zoological Park, Daumesnil Lake and Saint-Mandé Lake as well as numerous sports centres. A large number of food shops and good restaurants, not to mention refined, original boutiques, contribute to the pleasure of living there.
Saint-Mandé, on line 1 of the underground, is a natural extension of Paris.


This classical Mansard style house stands, completely unoverlooked in its wooded garden, facing the woods. The house

The classical and sober construction of this house probably dates from the late 19th century. It features regular openings and a Mansard style roof. An extension, with the same classical style and introducing a touch of fantasy with two atria, was added at a later date. It spans 350 m² of living space in addition to the basement level, making a total of 471 m².

Ground floor
The house is accessed via a porch with several curved steps, following the shape of the canopy supported by two Tuscan order columns. An entrance gallery under an atrium houses a monumental stairway and leads to the reception rooms which include a large lounge, opening on to the garden, followed by a dining room and a little lounge. The reception area can be modified by a set of sliding doors. The contemporary extension comprises a fully fitted kitchen, with an eating area, and a guest cloakroom with a toilet. Its studio flat, currently laid out as study, has a small kitchen and a bathroom. It is topped with a mezzanine under an atrium. The floors are alternately laid with marble and parquet flooring. Panelling and a fireplace decorate the reception rooms.
First floor
A first bedroom, looking out over the woods, has a fireplace, a dressing room, a toilet and a bathroom, fitted with a shower, a bath and a wash-hand basin. Its carpet is laid over parquet flooring. A second bedroom, also overlooking the woods, has a dressing room and a bathroom, fitted with a bath, a wash-hand basin and a toilet. There is a storage room on the landing.
Second floor
The second floor is reached via a small lounge which provides access to three bedrooms. One small bedroom looks out the back, whilst the two other, large bedrooms face the woods. This level also includes a bathroom, fitted with a shower, a bath, a toilet and a wash-hand basin as well as a sauna. There is parquet flooring throughout. Two of the bedrooms have fireplaces.
The basement comprises a vast, 4-car garage, a laundry room, a boiler room, a wine cellar and miscellaneous storage rooms.

Our opinion

Residents disregarding the railings, carefully concealed from the garden, have the impression that the largest verdant area in the French capital is, quite simply, a part of this property. Only a few properties are able to appropriate the trees of the Bois-de-Vincennes, whilst having a vast, elegant residence, and this is one of them. And then, it is quite another refinement to live in Paris, well, perhaps not quite, but better, in the little, airy, peaceful and affluent town of Saint-Mandé. On the oldest line of the underground, it is obviously a land of opportunity in the Greater Paris Area.
