Two and a half hours from Paris by car, 40 minutes from Tours (international airport and TGV train station with 55-minute links to Paris), thirty minutes from Blois, fifteen minutes from Amboise.

Bordering one of the world’s most famous chateaux, this residence, on the outskirts of Chenonceau, is ideally located for those seeking to run a hotel and catering business. Description

This residence stands on the banks of the river Cher in a verdant, wooded setting. With no less than twelve bedrooms, it totally fulfils its role as a guesthouse and blends perfectly with the Loire Valley’s architectural, historic and cultural surroundings. In the middle of the countryside, in the centre of fourteen hectares of parklands, adorned with trees over one hundred years old, this inn is an old, local, 18th century residence in a totally natural setting.

The residence

This residence, constructed in the 18th century, features classical architecture. Spanning three levels, it is built of local freestone, topped with a slate roof.


Ground floor
The ground floor is given over to reception purposes. It comprises an entrance hall, or rather a reception area. On the right-hand side is a dining room (exposed beams, fireplace and panelling) that opens into a lounge, currently in use as a breakfast room. There is also a cloakroom and a toilet.
At the back of the residence, a large atrium window faces the parklands and a lake.
A door leads to a large, professional kitchen, a back kitchen and a storeroom.
The ground floor also includes three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom.

First floor
The first floor comprises four large bedrooms with their own bathrooms and toilets. One of them is very large (35 m²) and is laid out as a suite. There is also an office and a linen room.
Second floor
The second floor comprises three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and toilet.
Outbuilding
The outbuilding does not adjoin the main dwelling. It comprises two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, as well as a small workshop.
The parklands
The parklands, spanning three and a half hectares, have a lake in the middle and include trees over one hundred years old, lawns and flowerbeds.

Our opinion

This property, with a charm all of its own, stands in a peaceful, verdant setting. The nearby river Cher and the lake in the middle of the parklands enhance the immediate surroundings of the residence.
It is obvious that this guesthouse would be ideal for future owners seeking to continue the current hotel and catering activity. Indeed, with this in mind, its site on the outskirts of the Château-de-Chenonceau and the current layout of the residence (which has a minimum of fourteen bedrooms), are great assets. Would-be buyers not wishing to open the property to the public will have but to carry out a few interior transformation works and add their own personal finishing touches.
