Description
The main house
The entrance is at the side, through a door that is as high as the first floor ceiling or via a small internal courtyard with Burgundy stone floor. The ground floor comprises the reception rooms such as the grand living room, a reading and television room, a kitchen-dining room and service and store rooms. All the rooms overlook the garden or the courtyard and have all the features one expects of an old house: wood panels, beams, fireplace, stone walls and floors. A stone staircase with a central column leads up to the first floor. Three comfortable bedrooms and two bathrooms, a large study/library located at the end of the Italian gallery. A hidden door leads to the warden’s house. Finally, on the second floor, there are three bedrooms, a shower room and a convertible attic.
The summer house
The summer house or pool house is an annex where the current owners enjoy spending time when the weather is warm. Located beside the pool, facing the gardens and backing onto the tennis court, the pool house has a large living area and a sleeping area on a split level. There are two shower rooms and a toilet. The large covered patio is the ideal place to dine on a summer evening.
The warden’s lodge
Currently separated from the main house by a wall and a library, the warden’s lodge comprises a living room, dining room, four bedrooms, two toilets, a bathroom and a shower room plus a basement cellar. The house overlooks the courtyard and the garden to the back of the house where there is a car park and car port for 4 cars.
Our opinion
The stone walls of this lovely old house exude sturdiness and reliability. The property has a serenity that is sure to seduce visitors. The building, the grounds, the view, the tranquillity and the nearby river will draw you in and make you want to stay forever. A family house near Lyon with an easy commute. Go and work in the city and return home in the evening to relax and take advantage of the spectacular surroundings of your home.
