From the very beginning of the long drive that leads to the entrance, the light dancing on the ochre-coloured stone, the deep blue of the sky and the endless shades of green from the surrounding nature will catch your eye. The lines of the property then begin to take shape and the facade reveals its timeless beauty in the simple Louis XV style without makeup or frills. Even the tall trees that surround it seem to have risen to emphasise the brilliance of its purity. Here, time has embellished rather than eroded the spirit of a century where hosting and receiving guests was like creating a work of art.
The air in the plains of Caen is incredibly fresh and invigorating, it is less humid than that of the Pays d'Auge with the Mesnil d'O on its outskirts. The sky is often clear and blue above the chateau, it has the advantage of being in the centre of a completely enclosed estate and it is particularly quiet. It has been almost forty years since we bought this elegant chateau that we completely restored.
In 1975, the chateau was classified as a historic monument for its particularly elegant facade, its wrought iron railings and its painted canvases that adorn the fours lounges: the work of Italian artists that lived in the region in the mid-18th century.
The Mesnil d'O was built in the middle of the 18th century (1750/1751) by Jacques-Robert Morin du Mesnil, the father-in-law of the famous lawyer Jacques Elie de Beaumont.
We offer high quality hosting and service in an 18th century chateau listed as a Historic Monument. A dedicated team is here to advise and help with the organisation of large or small receptions.
The Pays d'Auge is full of excellent spots. We particularly recommend the Beaumont-en-Auge chocolatier, the "Le Pavé d'Auge" which is a superb restaurant in Beuvron-en-Auge and the cider and calvados of the Mézerac family in Mézidon-Canon.
The seminar room is located in the chateau's outbuildings and can accommodate up to 100 people. It has direct access to the park. Thirteen participants can be hosted on site.
