With a quiet street, two beautifully crafted little twin doors and a truly simple facade, this house is certainly discreet. Since the Belle Époque, however, it has experienced everything that the chicest of seaside towns has to offer. Deauville, the Duke of Morny's "kingdom of elegance" built in the 19th century, has never ceased to inspire dreams. Architectural follies, a racecourse, a casino, beaches, an American film festival, and seaside walks where so many celebrities stepped foot over the past century: all this, just a stone's throw from the Villa Laure. Completely renovated, spacious and generous, this property is ready to welcome a whole families where they can prolong the Deauville dream.
I am from Normandy myself. This house is a childhood dream. Coming with my family or friends for a week or a weekend is always magic!
This vast 230m2 house on three floors levels is classified as a Remarkable Building of Deauville. It has therefore been protected from any extensions or modifications which could result in its original character being lost. The brick and stone facade, the ironwork and the roof with triangular pediment dormers have all been preserved. The interiors still feature the original tiling, solid parquet floors, marble fireplaces and beautiful volumes with a three-meter high ceiling.
In 1913, a developer had four houses built here for his four daughters. Two of these terraced houses were then brought together and transformed into a family hotel intended to provide them with some income. Until recently, the hotel was occupied by the builder's last granddaughter. We are Parisians and we fell in love with this house. As parents of four daughters ourselves, we were touched by the property's history. When we bought it in 2018, we started renovations to bring it back to life and create a place for welcoming groups of friends and large families. The house is now named after my wife.
Villa Laure is located just a few steps from Deauville beach, a vast expanse of white sand surrounded by the famous boardwalk which dates back to 1923. Due to its geographical location, the house offers absolute comfort. With everything on the doorstep, guests can abandon their cars and walk to the shops, the beach, the racetrack, the casino, and even the train station. The house is made to be lived in and shared with family or friends. The spaces, the beautiful volumes and the lounges bring everyone together and make quality time with family enjoyable. Deauville is a dynamic city that has something for everyone: municipal tennis courts, a Yacht Club sailing school which organises beautiful trips out at sea, a mini-golf course, and a skate park where you can play football, basketball, handball or go skateboarding all year round.
Personally, I love the beautiful presented and tasty seafood platters from L'Etoile des Mers and the pastries from Jean-François Foucher. I also enjoy admiring the view of the Villa Mors in Tourgéville, an enigmatic abandoned castle on the beach. Our favorite restaurants are La Péniche on Promenade Michel d´Ornano, L’Essentiel on rue Mirabeau, and La Table du Marché in Trouville. The Deauville Pony Club accepts all levels and organises rides along the beach. Cycles Jamme can be contacted for bike rentals.
The Villa Laure inspires creativity and can accommodate management seminars for up to twelve people. The charming three-storey house offers six bedrooms and two meeting rooms. Several living rooms and bedrooms allow for guests to enjoy some privacy.
