Its name comes from the grain trade, underlining the central importance of trade in this district – a sector that was long brought to life by guilds and workshops. The street lies next to the road Rue Montorgueil – an emblematic centre of gourmet Paris – and is close to the city’s famous 19th-century boulevards. Indeed, the street is integrated into a dense urban backdrop steeped in history. Discreet townhouses, old workshops and delightful inner courts create an authentic architectural backdrop here. The area is well connected to public transport too. A short stroll takes you to the metro stops Sentier (line 3) and Étienne Marcel (line 4). Moreover, the Châtelet Les Halles RER regional rail station (lines A, B and D) is just a few minutes away.
Description
The old edifice in which the studio apartment lies was probably built in the 17th century. You can still see many of its historical architectural features. It stands in the historical heart of central Paris, near the vibrant street Rue Montorgueil, but is set back in calm. The communal areas have been well maintained. This studio apartment brings together all the sought-after qualities of a dwelling in the old heart of central Paris: a historical location, an old edifice with original architectural features and an interior in very good condition. It also offers a perfect balance: a calm backdrop combined with closeness to the vibrant street Rue Montorgueil and good public transport links. With the pleasant spaciousness and practical layout of this studio apartment, which makes full use of all its space, this property would be an elegant pied-à-terre or an excellent investment, in the middle of an area of Paris that has remained authentic and lively.
