An apartment renovated by an architect with luxury materials,
at the corner of Rue de la Tour and Avenue Paul Doumer
Paris, PARIS paris 75016 FR

Location

The street today bears the name of former French president Paul Doumer, who was assassinated in 1932, but was previously called Avenue de la Muette. It can be found in the residential part of the Passy district, midway between the Trocadéro and Rue de Passy, which boasts many shops, luxury boutiques, delicatessens and neighbourhood markets. There are many renowned schools nearby: the Lycée Janson de Sailly senior high school, the Saint Louis de Gonzague (also known as ‘Franklin’) private school or Institut de la Tour where Brigitte Bardot studied before she became an actress. The area is well connected to the public transport networks, particularly by the Rue de la Pompe and Passy metro stations, on lines 9 and 6 respectively, which can be reached on foot. A large number of bus routes also pass through the district.

Description

This luxuriant building was built in the early 1950s and its sober façade is made of ashlar. The entrance is topped with an Art Deco style bas-relief depicting an athlete from the Antiquity. It is made up of a double-leaf glazed door with a period ironwork frame that leads into the hall, whose walls are covered with slabs of travertine stone. The building superintendent’s office is located here. The apartment is situated on the first floor and can be reached by an elevator. A spacious entrance leads directly into a living room including an open-plan kitchen with a central island unit. The entrance hall floor is paved with cement tiles over the first metre and is then followed by light-coloured oakwood stripped flooring throughout the rest of the apartment. The black coloured fitted kitchen matches the veins of the white Calacatta marble worktop. The more than 32-m² living room leads to two bedrooms that overlook the street through large horizontal windows. Both bedrooms are spacious and generously bathed in light. One of them boasts a vast walk-in wardrobe fitted with hanging rails and shelves. Opposite, there are a separate lavatory plus a bathroom with a bath, shower and double washbasin, with grey veined white marble style tiling. There is also a utility room measuring a little less than 2 m². The entire apartment is pre-equipped for air conditioning and there is a collective central heating system.

Our opinion

This apartment is located in the residential part of the 16th arrondissement, which is home to a succession of townhouses, villas and luxurious buildings. The sector is brimming with renowned restaurants and shops. The property has been renovated and does not require any work. The choice of noble materials adds a touch of elegance and combines well with the modern decoration. The layout and dimensions of the rooms maximise the use of the volumes. A family will appreciate this functional and well laid out apartment, corresponding to a certain idea of luxury. Everything is ready to move in without delay. A covered parking space can also be purchased in addition to the property.
