A studio flat on the 2nd floor with a lift, a stone's throw from the Saint-Paul
metro station, on rue François-Miron in the Marais district
Paris, PARIS paris 75004 FR

Location

In the fashionable Marais district, the rue François-Miron bears the name of a former provost of merchants. It is built on the remnants of the ancient Roman road that linked Lutetia to Melodunum. This property, in the heart of historic Paris, is housed in one of the capital's oldest half-timbered houses. Dating back to the 16th century, the buildings in rue François-Miron were restored in 1967. The building housing the studio, close to the Hôtel de Ville, is around 300 m from the Saint-Paul and Pont-Marie metro stations, which lines 1 and 7 run through.

Description

The half-timbered houses of rue François-Miron are some of the best traces of the capital's medieval past. With their timber-framed facades filled in with cob which are typical of northern France, they were redesigned from the 17th century onwards. Most were destroyed in the 19th century when Baron Haussmann remodelled the city.
Accessible from the street via two doors with a digital code entry system and intercom, this studio apartment full of character (measuring approx. 15 m²) is located on the second floor of a five-storey building, with lift access. The windows are straight and regular with small cross-panes. The roof has a wooden frame covered in tiles. No works are necessary before moving in. The carefully maintained communal areas have kept their authentic feel, with tiled staircases, wooden stair nosings and exposed-beams on the walls. The condominium has 16 lots and the same number of owners.
The main room in the studio is divided into a dining area by the window, a lounge and a kitchen area. The north-facing window, with its small panes and old espagnolette closure, opens out onto an inner courtyard. The original materials preserved are the hexagonal terracotta floor tiles, the half-timbered front wall and the French ceiling. The bathroom, with a tiled floor, washbasin, shower and toilet, adjoins the main room. There is plenty of wall storage and modern fittings making the studio functional and optimising the living space.
The flat is sold furnished and ready to move into.

Our opinion

A unique pied-à-terre in the heart of historic Paris, designed for everyday living. The property is a turnkey apartment. Fully equipped, furnished and in a quiet location, it is a quality place to live or a wise rental investment.
The studio has been given a warm, unique atmosphere thanks its enhancement with functional fittings to optimise space, all combined with conservation of the original historic features. Architectural features such as terracotta tiles on the floor and exposed beams on the ceiling blend in elegantly with modern fixtures and fittings.
