Description

This former 18th-century farm in the heart of the village is made up of several Paris stone buildings arranged around a courtyard and a garden. The facade of the apartment building is in exposed stone, with straight windows on the first floor and a dormer window at the bottom of the gable roof topped with old flat tiles. Named a duplex apartment because its main rooms are spread over two floors, it has a total floor area spanning almost 108 m².
Accessed directly from the porch via a sheltered outside staircase, the front door opens onto a landing which leads to a toilet, shower room and cloakroom. A half-turn wooden staircase with a landing leads to the living room, which features exposed beams and a light-coloured oak fireplace carved with geometric patterns. An open-plan kitchen, that needs to be fitted out forms an L-shape with the main room. The kitchen is lit by a window that overlooks the garden. There are also a bedroom and shower room on this floor.
On the floor above, parts of the roof structure – rafters, purlins and joists – have been left exposed in the two bedrooms, bathroom and toilet, leaving the ceiling high. This duplex apartment has been partially refurbished with new rendering, insulation, windows, heating and paintwork. The roof is currently being remade. All that still needs to be done is to finish fitting out the apartment.
Outside, in the garden, two parking spaces are kept free for the future occupants.

Our opinion

Set in a very quiet location in the village, this typical former farmhouse, built from local stone, is part of a complex of four buildings. Although it is an old building, and many of its historic features have been renovated, the layout of this duplex apartment is highly original, and its brightness gives the place a modern feel.
A property perfectly suited to a young family looking for green surroundings with timeless charm, elegance, space and everyday comfort.
