The natural region of Condroz extends over the east banks of the river Meuse. Some of Belgium’s most beautiful farmhouses are to be found in this undulating bocage countryside, with its irregular-shaped fields separated by hedges and ditches. One example is this traditional, long farmhouse, not far from a village in the Ossogne Valley. Converted into two separate houses, it still has some of its very beautiful original features, including its dressed stone walls and the massive beams that cross the living rooms. A pleasant wooded garden to the rear of the house provides attractive panoramic views over the surrounding countryside, including the simple and complex folds of the land known locally as “tiges” and “chavées”.
