The wines from Binissalem were the first to benefit from a recognised appellation on the Balearic Isles. They include an excellent intense, perfumed Manto-negro which was possibly produced on this old farming estate, perched on the heights of the village. Old carriage gates open on to a paved courtyard, providing access to the house and its outbuildings. The vine climbing across the facades elegantly contrasts with the limestone walls, so characteristic of the region. The traditional main house alternates exposed beams, vaulted ceilings and cement floor tiles. A few renovations have already been undertaken, including the very useful addition of a swimming pool so that the hot Mediterranean weather can be enjoyed to the full.
