Our opinion
Alaior was founded in 1304 on the site of an ancient Moorish hamlet, nestled on a hillside, with narrow, winding streets that still climb toward the Church of Santa Eulària today. This medieval layout has never been straightened or simplified: it continues to dictate the way the houses in the center are arranged, with their tall, deep structures. This house retains its original features intact: the traditional vaulted ceiling, the rose windows, and the high ceilings that only the old homes in the center still preserve. The renovation did not seek to alter this heritage in any way, but simply to make it livable again, without ever covering up what the builders of Alaior had created centuries ago.
