Our opinion

Seven and a half hectares just a few minutes from Ciutadella. The figure always surprises those discovering Menorca for the first time: the island still retains the vast open spaces that the Mediterranean has lost elsewhere—that sense of open, unspoiled land now found only far from the most sought-after coastlines. The main building features Menorcan stone in its thick walls—the kind that the island’s builders hewn to withstand the wind and keep the interior cool in summer. Over time, it has been divided into two dwellings, each retaining its share of this raw material and the light that filters through the rooms without ever overwhelming them. Surrounding the house are a shed, a chicken coop, and a stone cistern—remnants of the rural way of life that the property has never strayed from. The historic center is nearby, as are the wild beaches. But here, it is the stone that speaks first.
