Our opinion
Here, the house predates the landscape it overlooks. Built in the 19th century on the slope of the castle hill, it already looked out over the Tagus long before the 20th century reshaped the horizon. What the 19th century established, the restoration has preserved without omitting a single detail, and its four storeys have retained the décor of their era. The top floor opens out onto the rooftops of Lisbon, the river and, in the distance, the 25 April Bridge. The secret, however, lies elsewhere. Behind the façade, a garden of some 588 m² winds its way down the hill, terrace after terrace, to a viewing point suspended above the water. In such a densely built-up neighbourhood, such an expanse of greenery comes as a surprise. There, the city ends. The garden begins.
