Our opinion
Silves has long regarded its river as its true border—the one that nourished the land and guided its people long before the city took on its Moorish name. It is within this ancient relationship between water and land that the villa has chosen to settle, set back slightly, as if it had always been there. The design embodies, in its own way, what the Algarve has always done best: working with the sun rather than shielding from it, orienting the house toward the water rather than the road, and letting the land have the final say on its placement.
