Our opinion
Since ancient times, Sifnos has cultivated the clay and pottery skills that enriched the island long before Cycladic tourism transformed the island’s economy. A stone villa set within a preserved landscape where centuries-old olive trees dot the gentle slopes leading down to the Aegean Sea, the architecture respecting traditional codes whilst incorporating contemporary comfort. The beaches of Platys Gialos, Apokofto and Faros, just a few minutes’ walk away, offer a variety of experiences, from sheltered coves to sandy stretches. Sifnos preserves the traditional villages of Artemonas and Apollonia, where centuries-old pottery production and subsistence farming still shape the terraced landscapes, a balance that has become rare in the modern-day Cyclades.
