Our opinion

An estate that does not merely occupy its landscape: it cultivates it. Set amongst some 28 hectares of rolling hills, nestled between Mediterranean woodland and olive groves, two stone farmhouses built in 1865 have been restored with the restraint characteristic of Tuscan rural architecture. The beams, thick walls and windows overlooking the countryside have retained their original simplicity. The surrounding land is managed according to the principles of organic and regenerative agriculture. Some two hundred olive trees, orchards, a vegetable garden and a natural lake form a living whole, which generates its own energy, collects its own water and processes part of its harvest on site. The main house and the six self-contained accommodation units allow several people to live here without ever getting in each other’s way, as each has its own outdoor space. Few properties combine the authenticity of the buildings with the coherence of the project to such an extent. This property is ideal for those who wish to experience the Tuscan countryside not merely as spectators, but to live there, entertain there, and leave it in a better state than they found it.
