Our opinion
A house built in 2006 by a Greek architect trained in Florence as his own home. The intention behind the design was to forge a link with the history of the site. Consequently, this contemporary structure incorporates a 19th-century Turkish fireplace, bespoke wood panelling, and marble and stone floors. The surroundings are not merely a backdrop: they are an integral part of the house. Here, the present respects the past, and the next occupant will have the simple pleasure of appreciating the spirit of the place.
