The Fontblanche stables provide lessons, courses and competitions in show jumping, dressage and ethology with a professional rider; board or half-board for horses, coaching and work on horses and/or improving horse/rider pairing based on analysis of the mind and locomotion.
Set in the heart of the Mediterranean forest and just 20 minutes from the coast, Fontblanche has everything you'd expect from a Provençal bastide: a protected natural environment with a wealth of scents, a kind climate, thousands of years of history and the sea nearby. With its resolutely contemporary décor in ochre tones and with the silence disturbed only by the music of the cicadas, this recently renovated accommodation can bring together a family or large groups. Riders will find themselves particularly pampered by all the facilities on site. Sheltered in the shade of the holm oaks or refreshed by the swimming pool, guests can spend peaceful days here, with the only temptation to leave being to go and explore the region.
I’m from the Marseilles region and I'm deeply attached to the Mediterranean, to nature and to animals. Overwhelmed by the beauty of this site, it was an obvious choice for me - destiny.
In the heart of a natural setting, surrounded by ancient trees, this bastide embodies all the charm of Mediterranean architecture. Its large, rounded windows flood the spaces with light, while the turquoise-blue shutters recall the dazzling reflections of the Mediterranean Sea. Each room has been carefully thought out and crafted using beautiful natural materials. Filled with warm colours, it is a haven of peace, reflecting the charm and soul of the south.
We're an outdoor-loving family who love nature and animals. My eldest daughter is a rider, and through her activity I met a professional rider whom we bought a horse with to follow him in his competitions. In 2022 we found this corner of paradise, a property steeped in history and life stories. We set off on this adventure, overwhelmed by the beauty of the site, which at the time had no water supply and was supplied every day by a small tanker. After studying the site with a geologist, blue gold gushed out like a new source of life from a depth of exactly 336 metres! After two and a half years' work, the bastide and stables at Fontblanche have been given a new lease of life.
A refuge in the Fontblanche forest and a veritable treasure trove extending over 850 hectares of protected natural area. It is an area where I have put my heart and soul into my two passions: horses and decorating. A must for riders, hikers, cyclists and all travellers looking for an unusual place surrounded by nature and horses. This haven of tranquillity, surrounded by the scents of the Mediterranean and the song of the cicadas, offers guests an authentic, relaxing getaway, with all the beaches accessible in less than half an hour: Cassis, La Ciotat, Bandol, Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer.
Château de Roquefort, just five minutes from our bastide, is a family-run vineyard dominated by its historic château. Here you can taste authentic, refined wines and visit the Domaine de la Bégude. There are many walks, cycle rides and horse rides through the Fontblanche forest. Le Paternel, a market gardener in the heart of Gemenos, sells delicious local fruit and vegetables. The Ravel potteries in Aubagne, a factory in a timeless place where you can discover marvels. In terms of eating, we recommend "Le San Felice", a restaurant in the five-star Le Castellet hotel, just 15 minutes away.
