Situated on a plateau overlooking the Loing valley, between plains and woods, the village of Égreville bears witness to the history of the Gâtinais region, which is often overlooked, but which is actually full of surprises. With its tiled roof and large brick-framed windows, the house is a fine example of traditional regional architecture. It has the charm of those homes where you feel at home right away. A house that invites you to explore its every nook and cranny, to escape into its garden to admire its pretty facades and then to return to wander through its light-filled rooms. Its renovations were carried out with such care that it is hard to imagine it any other way. Everything that has been added has blended in with the old elements as if by magic. Ancient and contemporary, at the same time, La Prairie has found the perfect balance to meet every expectation. Relaxation, rest, activities, reflection, exchanges, sharing...everyone will find what they are looking for here.
I have always lived in Paris. Having experimented with 100% teleworking during the pandemic, I quickly realised the disadvantages: isolation, distance from my colleagues and daily loneliness. That's when I came up with the idea of reinventing green working, going off together as a team and escaping to the countryside to strengthen connections, create memories and enjoy unique moments together. My motto: "Work, well-being and a change of scenery". The result is "The Oasis House", green country houses for families, friends or colleagues to stay in unspoilt natural surroundings, far from the hustle and bustle of the big cities. Located in Égreville in Seine-et-Marne, "La Prairie", our first house, is the perfect embodiment of my project. As well as its tranquillity and beauty, the area is rich in historical and cultural heritage, which fits in perfectly with my desire to create a place to live and work that is also steeped in history and tradition. Situated less than a 100 kilometres south of Paris and easily accessible by train or RER, the area is a rural setting yet remaining close to the capital.
The house is a charming blend of traditional architecture and contemporary touches. The outside walls are made of stone, giving it an authentic, rustic feel. The small-paned windows add a touch of charm. Inside, we have kept the original exposed wooden beams and stone fireplace, while modernising the spaces. During the renovation, we used natural materials: terracotta tiles on the floor, vintage wooden furniture and renewable energy. The 100 m2 barn, dedicated to meetings and events, has large windows that flood the room with spectacular light. A banqueting table, found in a former convent in Italy, sits in the centre of the room and can seat up to 50 guests.
Over 100 years ago, this welcoming house was a guest house, next to which ran a railway carrying bricks to Paris. In the 80s, it belonged to a Japanese artist couple, and the nearby barn served as their studio. We bought it two years ago and undertook restoration work, preserving its charm while adding modern features to create and offer personalised team holidays. Today, La Prairie is a place for relaxation and discovery, where past and present come together harmoniously in a rural setting.
Our aim is to enable our guests to share simple moments in life, and to create a sense of togetherness and closeness with their colleagues and friends. Our aim is to revive a spirit of conviviality in the workplace, reinventing the team holiday in a different, green and dynamic setting, in private, unique and authentic houses, so that we can leave together more united, confident and stronger! Our culinary approach is about short distances from producer to table and seasonal produce. Our recipes are designed to prevent food waste. The house has a wide range of facilities, including a swimming pool, barbecue, padel court, petanque strip, 100 m2 barn and stables nearby. To encourage moments of sharing, we offer olfactory tasting workshops, cookery classes with a chef, gathering and picking in the forest, yoga, painting and exchanges with professionals - training, coaching and skills development.
A visit to the "Les Clés de la Ferme" farm to learn about permaculture, take part in a day of picking and cooking wild plants, or enjoy a botanical walk. For hiking enthusiasts, there are enchanting trails in the heart of the Nanteau Poligny forest, where nature reveals itself in all its splendour. The Bourdelle Garden, a must-see in the region, is a magnificent sculptural site created by the sculptor Antoine Bourdelle. It is perfect for an artistic stroll. Every Sunday, the Souppes market, with its colourful stalls and quality local produce, is a must-see experience for food lovers and fans of local produce. Finally, a visit to the Château de Courances, an architectural gem surrounded by magnificent gardens.
