Set between the sea and the mountains, where Provence is still very much in evidence, yet close to the Côte d'Azur, this is a place that has all of the richness of this in-between region. Set back on the hillside, the house has a very soothing atmosphere. The air is filled with woody scents and the only sound you can hear is the song of the cicadas. From the main terrace, the immense sky presides over the green carpet of the last hills before the blue of the Mediterranean. This in itself is already plenty, but the inside and outside spaces of the house complement each other and intermingle in a fluid, natural flow. The sober, elegant and colourful interior decor is the crowning touch, ensuring that a stay here will meet all of its promises and more.
Fate led us to a place we'd never heard of before. There was nothing premeditated or planned, it was a pure coincidence. We had a small car accident near here and it gave us the chance to discover the region and La Cadière-d'azur in particular. We were captivated by the place’s charm and its magnificent views over the Bay of Bandol. The view of the sea and the mountains was so breathtaking that we didn't want to go back home. We stopped here and never looked back.
This south-facing Provençal-style house, with an impressive sea view, spans a total surface area of 290 m2. It has terraces on every floor, a summer kitchen, a swimming pool, a pontoon for meditation, a former donkey stable converted into a small studio, a boules pitch and a generous vegetable garden.
Built into the mountainside directly on the rock and set against a hectare of vegetation, the house sits like a queen above the clouds. It is a family home built over two generations using local stone, roof timbers salvaged from old barns and beautiful materials found throughout the region. We wanted to preserve the house's soul and fine materials, while incorporating a contemporary tone all set to the enchanting views.
It is a nest perched above the world. The house has a 180° view over the sea and hills. Take a break from everyday life and enjoy a breath of freedom! There are few neighbours here to detract from your stay. The site is so relaxing that you can hear yourself breathing. The house has a beautiful soul that everyone feels and makes their own. And it is less than 15 minutes from the sea and the city centre. You can access all the joys and facilities of these neighbouring attractions from this eagle's nest.
For Bandol wine, the "Domaine de Baraveou", which is 200 m from the house. The vines are farmed as naturally as possible, without any chemicals, to reveal the unique taste of the region and bring out the best in the Mourvèdre and Grenache grapes. There are also "Le Domaine Bunan" and "Le Domaine de Pibarnon", the best Bandol that exists! L'île verte, an uninhabited, wooded island with a delicious, friendly restaurant. The Gaou cove, the island of Bendor. The island of Les Embiez and its unmissable food truck that serves burgers that are out of this world. In La Cadière d'Azur, "Le bistrot de Jef", the "René' Sens" restaurant, which has been awarded a Michelin star as well as a green star for chefs committed to sustainable gastronomy. "L'arlequin at La Cadiere, ”Le pied de nez” a warm and delicious restaurant in Le Castellet and "La Table du Castellet", haute cuisine with Mediterranean accents.
The house and property boast 180° views of the sea and mountains, and have numerous locations and set-ups to make the most of for film and photo shoots.
