The very mention of the Marais is like a magnet. Parisians can't resist the chance to wander around and soak up its unique atmosphere, where history and creative energy blend so well. This flat alone illustrates the spirit of the area. On the second floor of a 17th-century building, it has retained its original charm - exposed stone joints and wooden beams - while the space has been reinvented to let in more light and bring more comfort. And to complete the picture, the furniture and decor have been perfectly matched for comfort and aesthetic appeal. It is the perfect quiet refuge after wandering the surrounding streets and taking in all the Marais has to offer.
Living in the Marais has long been a dream of mine and I've finally made it come true. Dating back to the 17th century, the buildings and narrow streets of this district still retain the allure of old Paris, but with a contemporary, youthful feel. There's a constant sense of creativity here, and we had the immediate impression of being in one of the capital's most dynamic districts.
The 65 m² flat, with 4.5-metre-high ceilings, is on the second floor and has a private access via a staircase in the building's rear courtyard. It features stone walls, parquet floors and exposed wooden beams with cast-iron wall braces. A mezzanine, anchored up above the kitchen, rests on exposed steel beams, giving the whole an industrial atmosphere while preserving the building's original structure.
The flat is located in a 17th-century building in the 3rd arrondissement, in the northern part of the Marais, one of the oldest parts of central Paris. We acquired this former retail space in 2022 and converted it into a flat. A large exposed stone wall, highlighted by metal angles, immediately caught our eye, reminiscent of the aesthetic of the bed and breakfasts we had previously created in Gordes. We then created a modern, comfortable place, while preserving its historical aspects.
The flat's location in the heart of the Marais district offers a typical Parisian experience, in a very lively and trendy area. It is largely pedestrianised and everything is concentrated in a small area, so you can do everything on foot. We offer our guests a personalised stay with a welcome tray of homemade jam, a bottle of wine and a small bottle of olive oil, both produced on our property in Gordes. Mariage Frères tea and Nespresso capsules are available, and a small bar is available. We also offer a selection of "Le Labo" products and a home-made scrub from Provence.
The "Café de la Poste", opposite the house, for breakfast in a typically Parisian atmosphere. "Pastavino", a trattoria on the corner of Rue de Saintonge and Rue de Bretagne, where you can find the best of Italy, especially their excellent paninis. "La Maison Plisson" is both a food hall and a restaurant, offering meals and products from a rigorous selection of producers and farmers. "Tout Autour du Pain", ranked three times among the top ten winners of the Best Baguette in Paris competition and awarded first prize for the best croissant in Paris. The "Fromagerie Jouannault", with very high quality products and a remarkable choice of cheeses.

The space is laid out around a main floor comprising an entrance hall, a living room and an open-plan kitchen, which is accessed by a few steps. A half-staircase leads up to the bedroom, which has a bathroom and a dressing room, and internal windows open onto the living room, creating a subtle dialogue between the spaces.
