Like a sleek observatory perched above the Durance valley, this charmingly simple chalet allows the impressive scenery surrounding it to shine. Between the Ecrins Park and the Italian border, nature stretches endlessly before your eyes, tempting you to embark on long hikes and breathe in the scents of the south.
I had a happy childhood in this region, it has everything from high mountains and gentle valleys to a pure climate and Mediterranean sunshine. Wedged between Italy and France, the region is also steeped in history. The inhabitants knew how to combine their places of origin and create a shared identity. With rural farm workers still present, it is an authentic region that lives to the rhythm of the seasons and in harmony with the environment. It is an ideal setting for those who are looking to spend time with nature and try a variety of activities. Hiking trails, rivers, lakes, glaciers, peaks and valleys invite you to escape the crowds of the seaside, get back in touch with forgotten sensations and discover new ones. The mix of French and Italian cultures makes the region rich in flavours, it will not leave lovers of local specialities disappointed.
This contemporary chalet is a building that combines simplicity, traditional materials and volumetric modernity. It offers a vast, unobstructed view of the Durance valley from above. Vertical shutters frame the scenery like pictures, accentuating the depth of the window frames and providing protection from the sun. The property fits perfectly with the natural slope of the ground and provides access to the garage and two parking spaces on the ground floor. In a sort of continuity, all of the living spaces on the ground floor have access to the outdoor space. The first floor is reserved for the bedrooms with two parental suites and a cabin room which children and adolescents always enjoy.
The chalet was brought to life by the patience of the designers and a desire to complete a project in memory of our grandparents who knew how to share their passion for this 'mountain' with us. It was designed as an everlasting symbol of generational transmission and we hope that our children will know how to make the place, the way of life that it offers and the state of mind that we encourage here their own.
Between the Ecrins mountains, Queyras, the valley of Nevache, Briancon and the lake of Serre-Ponçon, this unique property boasts an exceptional location. The modern chalet is fitted out with furniture by well-established contemporary designers (prescribed and supplied by "Les Heures Maison") and will become a timeless part of the village of Puy-Saint-André's history.
There are plenty of walks in the Nevache valley and the Queyras, a hotel-restaurant on the Izoard road in Cervières to stop for a snack, a spot for lunch and a swim at the biotop lake in Chantemerle (a unique system in France powered by La Guisane) a large market to visit in Turin before enjoying an aperitif and a stroll in the old town and Vauban Briançon citadel in the late afternoon.
1200 € - 3000 € per week
There is access through the garage with two parking spaces on the ground floor, one indoor and one outdoor. Also on the ground floor is an entrance, an open kitchen under a skylight leading to the south-facing terrace, a living room and a multimedia lounge. Upstairs are two master suites with separate bathrooms and two bedroom-cabins that share the third bathroom and toilet. The chalet has a 40 m² terrace and a south-facing garden on one level and another garden and living room-kitchen towards the north-west.
