The renovation of a work of art is a delicate undertaking that can only be entrusted to (highly) expert art-lovers and experts. The work carried out over several years to restore the Palazzo Loschi Zileri to its former glory has not lacked in enthusiasm or talent. Surprise hits when, after climbing the beautifully sober grand staircase, we reach the apartment with its multiple decorations which follow the owner’s eclectic inspirations one after another. As we go through each room with its furniture and objects, we travel through eras and styles in a profusion of details and sometimes daring choices that somehow perfectly fit and balance each other in a refined, warm way. The dwelling is the natural expression of a country, region and city that have known how to create enchanting stagings with taste and genius for centuries. It will not fail to delight its guests.
This place, located on the main avenue in Vicenza, was an real find. I immediately loved the magic emanating from its past and could feel how it projected into the future at the same time. After its purchase, I worked on it for ten years with restorers, curators and heritage architects. I called it "No Other Place" because there is nowhere else I would rather live!
The building is set apart by the grandeur of its facade, which has soft stones on the ground floor and a rhythmic series of Corinthian half-columns on the upper floors, enlivened by festoons draped between the capitals and warrior trophies in the inter-columns. It has an interior courtyard and a spectacular interior staircase with separate flights of stairs. The atrium is connected to the courtyard by a corridor and is punctuated by six columns which support the vaults and ceiling segments. Along the walls, the convex half-columns contrast with the concave niches, making it a significant display of Palladian creativity. Inside, the walls are decorated in monochrome with a pantheon of artists and men of letters from the Renaissance and Neo-classicist periods, as well as pictorial decorations of "Bacchus and Ariadne" and the "Triumph Quadrille".
Located in the historic centre of Vicenza, Palazzo Loschi Zileri is a Neo-Palladian work of art dating back to the 18th century. Designed for the brothers Alfonso and Francesco Loschi, it is a testament to the style of Ottone Caldeari, its architect. Now divided into levels, "No Other Place", with its 600m², has kept the essence of noble and refined expression.
"No Other Place" is a journey within a journey! Staying here is about breathing in art and history, being surprised by the synaesthesia of colours, sounds and scents that exist here and only here. I personally welcome my guests and I am in contact with the staff throughout the stay. In this place, the verb "to stay" is enriched with exclusive content, perfectly in line with the experience offered and where anything is possible. "No Other Place" is open to all your desires, whether it be a dinner, an event, a meeting, a conference, a short or a long stay. We will take care of everything! We offer a welcome basket on arrival and toiletries from the black caviar "Gold" line by Salvatore Ferragamo.
Vicenza's location makes it very easy to visit other Venetian cities. Verona and Padua are only thirty minutes away and Venice is less than an hour away. The squares are very lively here, especially the Piazza Dei Signori, recognizable by its two columns decorated with the symbols of Venice, the lion and Christ the Redeemer, at the top of each. Around the square are the Bissara Tower and the Palladian Basilica, the work of Palladio, which today hosts events and exhibitions, goldsmiths’ stores and the Jewellery Museum. From its terrace you can admire the beautiful city landscape and perhaps enjoy a spritz, the famous Veneto aperitif. You can also try some local specialties: "Antica Trattoria Due Spade" in Sandrigo for polenta and "baccala alla Vicentina" – Vicenza-style cod, "Trattoria al Cavallino" in Creazzo for Broccolo Fiolaro - Venetian broccoli and "Ristorante Ottone" in Bassano for asparagus.
The apartment has a total surface area of 600m², with a spacious 120m² main hall, two large 50m² living rooms, a dining room that can accommodate up to twelve people, a fully equipped kitchen, an office, a bathroom and two spacious bedrooms with private bathrooms. The apartment offers pure linen and cotton bedding.
