Only an hour stands between La Minotte and Paris. Just north of the vast forest of Rambouillet, the small, historic town of Montfort-l'Amaury is nonetheless graceful and exotic. So much so that you would think it was a long-standing destination for relaxation, celebrations with family or organising seminars and putting on a great spread. La Minotte is ideal for all of these events. The beautiful facade overlooking the small paved street is delicately adorned, two wings reach out from the other side overlooking garden and extend towards the lawn and water features: a pond to please the eyes, and a swimming pool to dip yourself into. Thanks to the services offered, the four lodges and four guest rooms can be adapted to many convivial spaces.
For its very privileged location near the medieval city of Montfort L'Amaury and its proximity to Paris. We liked the look of the house, it was somewhat abandoned but had clear potential for an authentic restoration.
It is a 17th century mansion surrounded by a walled garden and built inside the walls of the village. With a U-shaped plan, the building is covered with flat tiles and has a one storey central body and two raised lateral wings with an additional floor. The garden facade is adorned with large bay windows that open onto the garden and swimming pool.
Unfortunately, I do not know much about it. I can, however, imagine that a rich and varied history of events took place in the numerous underground passages. These passages led to the church, to the castle of Anne de Bretagne and, so it seems, to the chateau of Versailles.
The Minotte is an exclusive place, a breath of fresh air in the forest of Rambouillet, an intimate place with four bedrooms and four lofts. It is above all a family home, perfect for those who want an experience removed from luxury standards and standardised services. One comes for the spirit of the place and will quickly feel at home here. The atmosphere is imprinted with light, simplicity and serenity. The two Labradors are always watching over us. Our table d'hôtes, the table du 7 and its chef Thibault, who began his career in the great kitchens of Alain Ducasse, Akrame Benallal and Christophe Moret at Lasserre, offers a creative cuisine composed of mostly organic products from local producers.
For foodies, ''Number 3'' is a Michelin-starred restaurant that offers contemporary cuisine made with seasonal produce. A more affordable establishment is "A Table", a gourmet bistro located in Thoiry. "Le Chi Fan" in Montfort is more on the extravagant side and serves reinvented Asian cuisine. The park of Groussay Castle, former property of the Count of Bestegui, is an extraordinary garden. The house of Maurice Ravel is also worth a visit. The small shops in the village sell a selection of deco objects with plenty of nice surprises.
La Minotte can organise small events of up to forty people: weddings, birthdays, baptisms, family reunions, parties with friends. As part of privatisation, La Minotte gives guests access to the vaulted cellars where a bar, sound system and dance floors can be set up. A la carte service is offered in collaboration with partners who have been carefully selected for the quality of their services: personal chefs, caterers, tables d’hôtes, bartenders, marquee rentals.

La Minotte also offers coaching sessions all year round with Jean Yves Davison. Former Thai boxing champion, he was inspired by the physical and mental preparation techniques of professional athletes to encourage everyone to exceed their limits and develop a serene mind.
La Minotte offers Hatha Yoga classes all year round: solo, duo and group lessons for up to 6 people and room rental.
‘La Table du 7’ and its chef welcome guests to La Minotte in the evenings from Thursday to Sunday, by reservation only, and introduce them to creative cuisine prepared with produce from local producers, most of it organic. The menu, which includes a starter, main course and dessert, is put together every day according to what's available and what the chef fancies.
