We were looking for a vineyard, but it was love at first sight that led us to acquire this estate. There wasn't a single vine planted, and yet the aura emanating from the place enchanted us. Its unique atmosphere, unspoilt architecture and the beauty of its natural surroundings made it an obvious choice. Today, we are committed to revealing all of its magic and starting a new page, a combination of tradition and renewal.
The château is halfway between a Provençal farmhouse and an Italian villa, with a stone construction whose façades have been renovated with lime wash paint, giving it a warm, natural patina. The building is distinguished by its spacious ceilings, punctuated by large arches, which lend the spaces a classic elegance and fluidity. Inside, each room tells a story, thanks to a unique decor blending Asian influences with Louis XVI and Empire styles. All of the furniture has been carefully sourced, with an emphasis on authenticity and timelessness. There is nothing new or contemporary here, just a timeless soul where every object has found its place over the years.
Built at the end of the 18th century, the Château de la Mère owes its name to a wealthy woman from Marseilles with a burnt face, who had the house built so that she could walk here out of sight. As a tribute to her home town, she had a statue of the Bonne Mère erected as the castle's crowning glory. Over time, the site naturally inherited its nickname, the Château de la Mère. The Villecroze caves, perfect for cool weather. Climb Roquebrune Rock at sunrise, hike Cap du Dramont opposite the Esterel mountains, or explore the wild paths of the Pointe de l'Église on the Saint-Tropez peninsula. Lake lovers will prefer the turquoise waters of Sainte-Croix. Food and drink lovers can sample great rosé wines at the Commanderie de Peyrassol, Château de Berne or Château La Coste, which combines contemporary art with fine dining. "Chez Bruno" in Lorgues for its legendary truffles, you can sit with your feet in the sand at "Club 55", enjoy fine cuisine at "Lily of the Valley" or a quieter dinner at "Bistro Cheval Blanc" in Saint-Tropez. Fans of antiques will be delighted at the Jas des Robert, a veritable Provençal Ali Baba's cave.
The château has 14 rooms covering a total surface area of 600m2 over three levels. It has nine spacious, bright rooms, ranging in size from 20 to 30 m2, elegantly decorated and equipped with king-size beds, including two interconnecting suites. All rooms are en suite and have air conditioning.
